SNEAK PEEK: What I've Done to Live a Present + Productive Life

Start listening now

Thanks so much for taking a peak inside my private podcast, the Mompreneur with Ease Method: A Blueprint for Living a Present + Productive Life. I am so excited to have you here. I'm so excited to share more, and I'm really happy that you made this decision to take some stress out of this crazy lifestyle that we've decided to live. I'm really happy to help guide you through my experiences, my method, and all this good stuff that I'm about to share with you.
.
.
So the first thing that I wanted to share with you is WHAT this method is all about.
.
.
And the first part of that is to really consider me as your case study. If you don't know me already, my name is Megan Moran and I am the owner of The Mompreneur Guide. I have an interesting relationship with Mompreneurship. I was actually raised by a mompreneur. I grew up and was able to see the freedom that this lifestyle offers and what a cool lifestyle it is. I got to experience it from the other side. I got to experience what our kids are experiencing right now. I got that gift from my mom that I'm now able to give to my kids.
.
Honestly, that was what inspired me to start my own business. I saw at a young age, how my mom could be around to pick me up from school, to do activities with me. Even though she might still have to work, she wasn't tied to a typical nine to five and somebody else being her boss and me not being able to be around. She was able to be present and productive. And I knew at a young age, that's what I wanted too.
.
.
So it's been a long time coming to get to where I am now. The theory and the reality didn't quite meet up for me from being a young kid and realizing this is what I want to now being a mompreneur myself. And this whole process is really the process that I took to get here. So we're going to use me as a case study. Like I said, throughout this entire method, it's literally the steps that I took personally to go from being raised by a mompreneur and knowing that I wanted that to figuring out how to do it more successfully and with a lot less stress and overwhelm than I once was.
.
To give you a little bit of background I started my first business in high school with that goal to be present and productive, like my mom was, by the time my kids came around. And as you can imagine, a business that you start then and work 10 years to build and life when your kids actually come around were two different things. That theory I wanted did not turn into my reality. So at the time my son was born and I was pregnant with my daughter and we were about to give birth to her and I just knew I wasn't living my days, the way I wanted to. I wasn't being around for my kids the way I wanted to and I knew I needed to make a change. So like I said, these are the steps that I took in order to have that quote unquote balance. Balance isn't always possible but we can get pretty darn close if we do a few things the right way. And so that was the change I made. I went from a personal stylist who had been doing it for 10 years to starting my business all over again while I had two under two. And let me tell you the change was worth it, the hard work at the beginning was worth it, and I'm excited to help you do that too.
.
This blueprint/playbook is going to share how you can spend less time doing all the things and more time being present with the ones you love doing the things you love. Because like I said, that's exactly what I've gone through. And this is what it looks like actually played out:
.
  • Now my anxiety is basically gone because I have implemented these processes, these procedures, these mindset shifts, all the things I've put into place in order to allow me to work when it's work time, mom, when it's my mom time and have me time when I can have some me time.

  • I also feel less alone.

  • And I feel understood in my business and lifestyle, which I think is something that is hard as a mompreneur because we're typically also solopreneurs. So we've got all these things racing in our heads all day, all these ideas. And that's another thing that makes mompreneuring such a challenge. Because not only do we have all of the weight of the to-do list for the house and everything with the kids and the mom guilt, but then us, as overachievers, have a million ideas and a million things we want to do in our business. But after putting this process, this method, into place, I can tell you that I feel less alone and more understood. And it's a lot easier.

  • I also have more time where I can just be laughing with my kids. I'm rarely getting frustrated with them, which again, I have two under two, so that might not seem like an easy feat, but I'm able to enjoy all the little moments, which is always my goal. Because as we know, these moments are fleeting, as they say, the days may be long, but the years are short. And so I want to be able to soak in all of this while I can, while they still want my snuggles, while they still want to be with me and I'm able to support them and help them grow into their best selves. But I also want to grow my business and myself mentally and professionally, too.

  • I've also been able to unplug more.

  • I have better focus, easier decision-making and I feel present, we're hitting our dream goals. We've gotten a new house, we're doing renovations, we're going on vacations post COVID.

  • I have me time and spouse time scheduled with cup filling activities.
.
Like I said, even though we have two under two, this is what the Mompreneur with Ease Method can do for you.
.
.
I've seen many articles that say: "if you decide to do mompreneurship, then you're just going to have to learn to be overwhelmed all the time and do it all. But it's so worth it and rewarding. And to that, I say: "I disagree. I think that we can do it with a little bit more ease." And now I'm going to show you how.
.
The three steps that we're going to be walking through, are the three S's to Mompreneur with Ease. And I want you to ingrain these in your brain because when you implement these three steps, you're going to be able to live a present and productive life.
.
  • STRATEGY- The first S that we are going to go over in this method, in this workshop, in this private podcast, in this cool thing that I'm doing is strategy. We need strategy because mompreneurship just innately doesn't come with any structure. That's the beauty of it that it's flexible, and you can make it what you want, and it gives you the freedom to be in control. But the other side of it is that there's literally no structure. So sometimes we can just end up flailing about, getting distracted, and not having a course of action. So this strategy and any strategy that I talk about with The Mompreneur Guide is going to offer you a couple of things: It's going to save you time. It's going to give you that structure that you need, and it's going to allow you to feel more confident in your next move. That's why I love it.

  • SUPPORT- The second S in order to live a present and productive life is support. We need it mentally. We need it emotionally. We need it physically, because it really does take a village to do really anything in life. And we could do it all ourselves. And we could be that quote, unquote, superwoman, but why make life harder? It's already hard. Let's try and make things as easy as possible.

  • SELF-CARE: And the last S the third S is self care. And by the end of this workshop, you'll know what to do with your me time, and you'll be able to make time to do it. So I know that right now, self-care might feel like this far off dream of a concept, but trust me, when we can get that strategy in place, then we can get that support in place. The self care will be available to you. And it's something that you really need in order to fully balance yourself out with all the craziness that this lifestyle offers.
.
.
So, a few things to know before you hop into the next couple of lessons is that this method does require you to take some time to get still. And I know that stillness can be a challenge sometimes because when you get still, us high-achievers/overachievers at least, feel like, "oh my gosh, I am going backwards. I'm treading water. I'm not getting closer and closer to my goal. How is this going to help me?" But at the end of the day, if you can take some time to get still, you're going to propel yourself forward so much faster, and with a lot less overwhelm and frustration. So getting still is going to allow you to get clear on what you need, but the good thing is once you do this once, it's going to be in place and then using it again and going through this process again and again, which we'll talk about in the strategy section is going to become really, really easy. You just have to do a little foundation, foundational work first in order to learn what it takes and get your bearings and get it into place.
.
I also wanted to remind you that this is a blueprint to make your life easier. So what will need to happen next is that you'll need to implement it. I do have homework for you to do, to get you started so that it's not just listening, so you can actually take some action after each lesson. But again, this is a reminder: It is a blueprint. So we need to do some implementation after, and afterwards, I am going to share how I can continue to help you on this journey, how I can help you with that implementation. So you won't be left, flailing about, take this time to really listen to the method, do the homework, start to understand it and know that I'll be there for you at the end to continue to walk you through it.
.
Last but not least, as you can probably tell, I'm going to talk a lot, and I'm probably going to be fast, because I'm just so excited to share this information with you. So if you need to slow the podcast down, if you need to pause it, whatever you need to do in order to get all this information soaked in know that those options are available to you.
.
So you do have a little homework for this first overview lesson.

  • Then the first thing you need to do is schedule this workshop on your calendar. I literally want you to put on your calendar 45 to 60 minutes over each of the next three days to complete each lesson. Now these are available to you all now. So if you want to binge them and do it all at once, you can, but I will be sending you emails in a drip format so you can walk through these in little bite sized pieces. So it's a little less overwhelming. So that's why I recommend over the next three days to schedule 45 to 60 minutes to complete them. Maybe you do this after the kids are down after you've had dinner, put your husband, your spouse, whoever it is that is with you on that calendar invite so that they know too, that you're taking 45 to 60 minutes for yourself for three days this week in order to make your life and their life a lot easier.

  • The second thing I want you to do for your homework is to set your intention. So I want you to think to yourself and write down: what are the results you are expecting to get from this workshop? When you can be really clear on that and actually take the time to think about it before you dive in, it'll ensure you actually go through this process and that you also clear the clutter that's in your mind before you get to the work. The second question I want you to ask yourself to set your intention is: when you leave this workshop, what is the one thing you absolutely want to have completed? Write that down. And if you haven't gotten to it by the end, make sure to reach out to me and we can figure out how to get you there: megan@themompreneurguide.com

  • Last but not least make sure to grab the worksheets for each lesson. Try to do it before the lesson. You can either print those out and write on them if you're more of a paper person or you can pull them up since you have the Canva template and just type right into them. You'll see my examples are there. They're meant to just guide you, but you can type right over those to fill out those worksheets for yourself.
.
.
So thank you so much for joining me. You have made a great decision to live life differently, but in a way that's great for you and your family. I'm so excited to help you on this journey. And I can't wait for you to get started.
